9 drilled shafts have been successfully completed

Load Test Shaft Concrete Pour Completed
Load Test Shaft concrete pour was completed on 3/17/25. The Load Test Shaft will have to undergo a period of curing time and testing prior to proceeding with the Production Shafts. After completion of the pour for the Load Test, GBI has continued to import fill material and grade for the future road section.
Completion of the Trial Shaft work
The latest update follows the completion of the Trial Shaft work, GBI is working with CMZ to prep and drill the Load Test Shaft, with the concrete pour scheduled for 3/14/25. At the same time, GBI is importing coral fill material to be compacted and placed in the future roadway location. Additionally, the State has recently acquired a parcel that allows work to commence in the Waimea side of the project. GBI went ahead and cleared the area, placed protective barriers and erosion control measures in preparation for grading work.
March 2025
The latest progress update focuses on the commencement of Trial Shaft work. We are collaborating with CMZ to prepare the drill pad area and stage the necessary tools and equipment. CMZ has already completed partial drilling to facilitate the installation of the casings. Concrete placement for the trial shaft is scheduled for Wednesday, 2/26/25.
